Job Overview:
The Quality Manager plays a critical role in ensuring products meet the highest standards of quality, safety, and regulatory compliance. This position requires a dynamic individual who can balance hands-on quality work with effective management of a quality team. You will be responsible for overseeing the entire quality management system, ensuring ISO compliance, and managing regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Quality Management
- Oversee the implementation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of the company's Quality Management System (QMS) in compliance with ISO standards.
- Develop, document, and maintain quality assurance processes and procedures.
- Conduct internal audits and manage external audit processes to maintain ISO certification.
- Ensure that products meet all regulatory requirements and internal quality standards before they reach the customer.
Regulatory Compliance
- Monitor and manage compliance with all relevant regulatory standards, including but not limited to ISO, REACH, RoHS, Prop 65, other industry-specific regulations, and customer-specific requirements.
- Stay up-to-date with changes in regulations and standards, and implement necessary changes to company practices and documentation.
- Prepare and submit regulatory documentation as required.
Leadership & Team Management
- Lead and manage the quality team.
- Provide training, mentorship, and professional development opportunities for quality team members.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including production, engineering, and maintenance, to ensure quality standards are integrated into all processes.
Hands-On Responsibilities
- Perform quality inspections, audits, and testing as needed.
- Lead root cause analysis and corrective action processes for quality issues.
- Manage non-conformance reports (NCRs) and oversee the implementation of corrective and preventive actions.
Continuous Improvement
- Analyze quality data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
- Lead quality improvement initiatives to enhance product quality, reduce waste, and increase efficiency.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement within the quality department and across the organization.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Quality Management, Engineering, or a related field, preferred.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., ISO Lead Auditor, Six Sigma) are a plus.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a quality management role within a manufacturing environment, preferably in an ISO-certified organization.
- Proven experience with regulatory compliance and managing quality systems.
- Strong knowledge of ISO standards and regulatory requirements.
- Proficiency in quality management software and tools.
